Dear friends

Hope this finds you well. Just wanted to show you more of the work of the Iliso Labantu Photo Group.

Nine of the photographers spent last weekend documenting Better Life, a small township on the Cape Flats where a government and private business alliance has undertaken to build 1500 homes this year. So it was a great place to go and witness change as it happens!

This project is the eighth in our series of Flash Photo Weekends. The work will be taken back to Better Life next weekend for an exhibition on the streets there, as a way of saying thank you to the community for welcoming us in. We will also include many of the images in our forthcoming exhibition entitled 'Structural Necessity' which looks at housing issues in the Cape Town area. This is part of the Cape Town Month of Photography and will run at our studio for the whole of October.
